Opening of the exhibition “From Skopje to the Heaven” in Timișoara, Romania

NI Memorial House of Mother Teresa – Skopje, on October 30, 2023, opened the exhibition “From Skopje to the Heaven” in Timișoara, Romania.

The exhibition was set in the hall of the Timiș County Council (Consiliul Județean Timiș) and it consists of 20 collages that present the life path of Mother Teresa – from her birth in Skopje, her departure to Ireland, her work in Calcutta, the formation of the Missionaries of charity, her humanitarian work around the world and her canonization. The exhibition was opened by mr. Pavel Ernest Dupta – Honorary Consul of the RNM in Timisoara, Romania who gave the floor to mr. Naser Curri – director of the Memorial House – who highlighted the long-standing cooperation between the two countries as a product of cultural exchange that continues to build bridges. He also emphasized the main mission of Mother Teresa: “to do small things but with great love” – should be a basic principle in our daily life. At the exhibition also spoke, mr. Christian Allin Moss – Vice-President of the Timiş County Council, mr. Cosmin Gabriel Tabara Amunar – Deputy Mayor of the city of Timisoara, mr. Ovidiu Megan – executive director of “Timisoara – European Capital of Culture 2023” and Cvetanka Vuckovska-Mitovska commissioner of the exhibition. The director of the Memorial House, Mr. Nasser Tsuri presented all the speakers with medallions with the image of Mother Teresa. At the opening, among the most important guests, took part mr. Silviu Sofronie – Honorary Consul of Moldova in Romania, mr. Segundo R. F. Montenegro – Honorary Consul of Peru in Romania, the President of the Jewish Community of Timisoara mrs. Luciana Friedman as well as representatives of several religious communities in Timisoara County.

The exhibition is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of RNM within the Annual Program for 2023. The whole project was under the auspices of the Consulate of RNM in Timisoara, as well as the selfless support of the Embassy of RNM in Romania by acting Ambassador mr. Muahrem Mexhiti.
