Pope Francis’s visit

Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, is the first pope to visit our country. During his apostolic visit, he visited Mother Teresa’s hometown and the Mother Teresa Memorial House, together with the leaders of the religious communities, where he had a meeting with the poor. In his speech, shortly before his arrival he stated: I dedicate my visit to Mother Teresa, born and raised in Skopje, who through the grace of God became a brave missionary of Christ’s mercy in the world, giving comfort and dignity to the poorest among the poor.
